A Little Bit Of History About The Big Mountain Run
It's Really Not That Good! It was nine years ago now that a rag tag bunch of us decided to start a new event to break away from the conventional motorcycle rally. Our idea was to throw a party in an area of the country that we loved, have a great ride, a cool spot to kick back, and if no one else showed up, it would still be fun for us. As it turned out more people showed up every year and the Big Mountain Run became a not so hidden secret. Even acclaimed national motorcycle photographer Michael Lichter has been on the BMR and captured iconic images from the riders of 2010. After loosing our property at the last minute in Tennessee we were forced to cancel the 2013 BMR but knew it would only be for one year. We'd like to thank that property owner for forcing us to find a facility that is ten times the location he threw us out of.
2014 saw the return of BMR to its new home in Tucker Co. West Virginia and a world class facility. Although the turnout was a little soft compared to years before we know now with our new director, Frank Dotson, it is about to explode. A little closer to the highway, a town that loves having us and everything you could want from a riders perspective, the BMR has absolutely landed in its new home.
This year we have once again taken the reigns back as frank Dotson has a family business that requires more of his time. The group of us from the magazine are bound and determined to take BMR to a new level and we are keeping it right in the same great location for another year. We have some new plans and actually might promote it.... wait.... no, scratch that.... It's just big enough now anyway. So, the years have come and gone but the basic premise is still the same; we ride through the APPALACHIAN Mountains, visit Buck's Vintage Indian Museum and RIDE THROUGH SOME OF THE MOST SCENIC must do roads in the life of any motorcycle rider. It all adds up to a two day Gypsy Run and a killer party at the end. If your idea of a good time with the motorcycle is sitting on Main Street and drinking $5 beers all day, then BMR is probably not for you but if you like to break away, get out and see the country and do something that's like it used to be, then meet us in the hills!

Sponsored By Led Sled Customs We did this three years in a row and it was great but it has been postponed this year due to lack of time to plan. It's all I can come up with. Changing it up next year so stay tuned.
Free Swap Meet Space For Vendors We're looking to grow the swap meet into a huge event inside BMR. In that end we are offering free space and two wristbands, as much as you want, to anyone who shows up with honest swap meet inventory. That doesn't include feather roach clips and chrome vibrators. If you're interested in setting up this year please contact Fenton below..
